“Words! Mere words! How terrible they were! How clear, and vivid, and cruel! One could not escape from them. And yet what a subtle magic there was in them! They seemed to be able to give a plastic form to formless things, and to have a music of their own as sweet as that of viol or of lute. Mere words! Was there anything so real as words?”

Wed Nov 29
Right, we did the Book Club at the start of class today - I asked everyone if they had an opinion on one of the characters from their novel "winning" by the end of the book. Some discussion followed, which I'm hoping to follow up on in the D2L.
Speaking of the D2L, I also took us through where the novels discussion areas should be, and there they were, waiting for students to fill them up and make themselves look SMRT.
Then we read to page 18 of the novel.
Oh, and we discussed the Podcast assignment for Hamlet that is due on Friday. If you don't have a copy of that assignment, I will post it under the helpful links for Hamlet on the right-hand side of the blog.
